Tim & Jean

Tim and Jean are well-established and highly regarded producers in the Southwest Slopes region of New South Wales. During a recent dry period they made the strategic decision to retain all of their weaners on farm. Despite the significant cost involved, they chose to feed the livestock through the challenging conditions in anticipation of a seasonal break and improving livestock markets.

Once conditions improved and pastures began to recover, Tim and Jean identified an opportunity to continue growing out the now yearling cattle to feeder weights, aiming to maximise their return on investment. However, with working capital resources exhausted after the dry spell, they required immediate financial support to continue with this plan.

Tim and Jean approached Legacy Livestock seeking a cash injection to replenish their working capital position. Legacy Livestock was able to respond promptly and provided a cash advance of $100,000 against Tim & Jean’s existing livestock on hand. This timely injection of capital allowed the clients to retain their livestock and continue to hold them through until they reached optimal weight—ultimately enabling a stronger sales outcome and protecting the long-term profitability of their operation.
