Max & Annabelle – the sequel

Existing Legacy Livestock clients Max & Annabelle have been running an F1 Wagyu operation in southern Qld.

Max & Annabelle have been experiencing dry seasonal conditions and needed to make some adjustments to their stocking rate. They decided to sell a line of Angus cows that were in forward store condition. The $/kg value of fat cows is currently much higher than the $/kg value of cows in store condition and feed grain prices are also low relative to prices in recent years.

Seeing an opportunity to realise a greater value for the cows Max & Annabelle asked Legacy Livestock to fund the cost of feeding the cows in a feedlot for 60 days to increase their value net of feeding costs.

Legacy Livestock’s ability to fund custom feed costs enabled Max & Annabelle to maximise the return from the sale of the cows.
